That LCD TVs provide a great viewing experience is no secret, but until lately few people were able to get one because they found them to be out of their price range. The good news is that these days it is not at all hard to find yourself a cheap LCD TV. The only hard part is deciding which of the many great and affordable LCD TVs on offer to spend your money on. With that in mind, here are some guidelines for helping you choose…
Find out a bit about each brand - There are many different companies that make LCD TVs and some are known to be better than others. The most famous brands are not always the best value for money, so it is worth finding out a bit about each brand’s reputation in relation to LCD TVs. You can do this by simply typing the name of a brand followed by ‘LCD TV review’ into a search engine and reading what people have been saying about them.
Decide what screen size you need first - A bigger screen size does not necessarily give you a better viewing experience; it all depends on how far away from your TV you sit. As a rough guide, a 30 inch TV works best if you sit 4 feet from your screen, and a 50 inch TV works best if you sit 12 feet from your screen. A huge TV in a small room will not only look out of place, but you will also be sitting too close to it to get the full benefits.
Only get a high resolution one - You should look for an LCD TV that has a screen resolution of at least 1024×768. Whilst you can certainly watch a TV with a lower resolution, you will probably not be completely satisfied. A mistake that many people make is to pay extra for a big screen size whilst totally forgetting about the screen resolution. You are much better off getting a smaller TV with a high resolution then a big TV with a low resolution.
